We dont often cover natural disasters on this blog, but there is a lot being said about the Tsunami in Japan and its got me thinking. Mostly about the option to watch the disaster as it happens, on live internet streaming video. Big : / from me on that one world news media organizations. I dont wanna see that shit, I feel bad enough I have to hear about it.
I had the privilege of becoming good friends with some exchange students from Japan briefly while at Ohio University. They rapped, made beats, and smoked weed, so they were definitely my type of peoples. One of them who went by NoName, had toured with De La Soul, and even had his own ringtone for sale in Japan (which back in 06 was way better than having a real record contract) I used to rap as well back then so naturally we decided to collab. I remember asking him what his verse was about, and him trying to explain it. If I remember correctly (and with all the references to Ecstasy Ketamin and weed in my verse, I might not be ) NoName is telling a story about his coming to the States and a change that has taken place within himself during his few months here.
Theres no overall point Im trying to make, or theme to bring this post together….Id just rather share a few words about myself, my friends, and our world view than actually watch live destruction. Hope you enjoy
